You need to make sure that the interface of the printer is USB. By performing a self-test page, you will be provided with information related to the printer. In order to perform the self-test page you need to turn the printer off, hold down the feed button and whilst holding down the feed button, turn the printer back on again until something prints out. The print out will look similar to the following image which shows you that the printer is using the USB interface:

The red error light on the printer will still be flashing at this point. In order to complete with the self-test, you need to press on the feed button once more and you will then be presented with the following print out:

Installing the printer

You need to download the Epson Advanced Printer Drivers and follow the step by step guide on installing the printer in Windows. Once you have extracted the files, you need to double-click on the setup:

You will then be presented with the following pop-up:

Once it has completed, you will see the following screen. On this screen you need to click on “Next”:

Thereafter you need to accept the license agreement by clicking on “I accept the terms of the license agreement” and then click on “Next”:

Then you need to select “Minimum (Recommended)” - this option will be selected by default. To get to the following click on “Next”:

On the next window, you need to click on “Add”:

On the next window, you need to select the driver by clicking on the drop-down arrow and selecting “EpsonTM-T70 Receipt”. You can change the printer name to your choice, I have called it “Invoice”. You then need to change the Port Type to “Create a USB Port” and then click on “Next”:

On the following window, you need to click on “Next”:

After confirming your settings, you need to click on “Next”:

The system will then begin to install the files onto the computer:

Once the above is completed, you need to click on “Finish”:

You then need to go to the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers to view the  invoice printer you have just installed:

Right-click on the invoice printer and select “Printer Properties”:

Click on “Sharing” and then tick the box that says “Share this printer. Once you have done so then you need to click on "Apply":

Thereafter, click on “General” and then “Print Test Page”:

If your test page prints out then you have successfully installed the printer in Windows.

Setting up the printer in Aura

In order to set up the printer in Aura, you need to go to Invoicing> Settings:

Then you need to go to Specific Computer> Printer Setup> Invoice Printers and set the device to: \\[computername]\[printersharename] - omitting [] and ticking “Direct To Port”. Thereafter, you need to click on “Apply” and then on “Close”:

Once this is done, you can test it by doing a reprint in Invoicing:

The reprint should look similar to the following receipt:

You have now successfully installed the Epson TM-T70 USB printer in Windows and set it up in Aura Invoicing.
